Your clipper is 50% of your cutting system, your blades are the other 50%. You have to do the user clipper maintenance or your blades won't cut properly. Freshly sharpened blades bring out clipper problems and worn parts. If you notice 7's and 10's not cutting properly after they've been sharpend, it may not be the sharpening. Blade drives need replaced every 4 to 6 weeks, and hinges about every 6 months. The video's on this website with show you how the parts of your clipper look when they need replaced. If your clipper isn't taken care of, blades won't cut no matter who sharpens them. You are responsible for your user clipper maintenance not the sharpener. We can do the maintenance for you and check the clipper.
Our clipper repair service is for our customers who send sharpening orders to us. We don't fix clippers at this price for folks who dont send sharpening to us. Sorry, Thats like finishing a dog that another shop bathed and blew out, it don't happen.
*** Please put notes on clippers describing what you think is wrong with it, this saves time and could prevent us from missing something. We dont test clippers on dogs which changes they way they run, we just run them on our bench. ***

Don't send a box full of clippers to be repaired it might get sent back. We work at getting the sharpening out fast, so only 2 pair. Call if you have a questions about repair or turnaround time.
NOTE: If your sending clippers WITHOUT a sharpening order, they don't fall under our 48 hour turnaround policy. We get the sharpening orders out first before anything else.
NOTE: IF YOU ARE SENDING A CLIPPER IN FOR A CORD REPLACEMENT AND IT HAS A "MONKEY CORD" ON IT, WE WILL DISCARD IT WITH THE OLD CORD. SO IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR "MONKEY CORD", TAKE IT OFF BEFORE SENDING THE CLIPPER.
We ask that you please clean all the hair out of your clipper hinge and drive if you can before sending it. Hair causes most problems with clippers heating up, blades dragging, and blades not locking on properly when these areas are impacted with hair. Cleaning the hair out may solve a problem your having with it, and its your job to keep your equipment clean.

Having Motor Problems With Your Excel 5 Speed??
If your Excel 5 speed sounds like its running really bad, or sounds like its not firing on a few spark plugs, it's the motor. The motor is unique because its a "plug and play" DC motor with no repair parts for it.
If you think (or are sure) your motor is bad, and you've eliminated a bad cord, send it to us instead of Andis. We can change the motor and put a brand new one in it for $45.00. That's cheaper than the cost of shipping and insurance back to the factory for a warranty job that takes a month or more. Just send it along with your sharpening and let us know your having motor problems. We'll check everything anyway!
Replacement cords are $45.00, expensive because of the converter on the end of the cord.
How to ship your Andis clippers
Even though your clipper was shipped to you in its box, thats not a good way to ship to us. If it wasn't shipped with other things, that clipper box was probably packed real good in the appropriate sized box and you paid alot in shipping.
We would like you to not ship your clipper to us in that clipper box for a couple reasons. First, that box offers no protective padding, and if the outside box gets slammed it can break things on/in the clipper. Second, we state on the Inventory Sheet that if you ship the clipper box to us we will find the appropriate size box to ship your tools and the clipper box back at full return shipping costs. The reduced shipping costs will not apply.
We will show you alternative and better packing procedures below, that will fit in a normal size box along with your tools.
Andis Clipper Box
The Andis clipper box offers no padding. In transit this box can get slammed and break parts inside the box.
We received clippers in these boxes with broken switches, broken front caps, and broken bodies.
This box was not made to protect your clipper when the box is thrown around by postal workers in transit to us.
Note: The outside shipping box doesn't have to look damaged at all to cause damage inside the box, it can look un-damaged. Its the force of the box getting slammed with that sudden stop that snaps items inside like scissors and clippers. So you want them protected very well.
Here is the best way to pack and ship your clippers to us.
Take your clipper out of the clipper box and get some bubble wrap. You can find bubble wrap anywhere, used or new.
Wrap your clipper at least two or three times around with bubble wrap and secure the wrap with rubber bands or tape.
Take the cord and fold it as shown DO NOT WRAP THE CORD AROUND THE CLIPPER. Secure the cord with rubber bands or tape as shown.
Protected this way, your clipper will fit easily in a normal box along with your tools.
NOTE: Its best to use this type of packing procedure no matter what kind of clipper your shipping. You don't want to fix parts that weren't broken before you shipped your clipper to be repaired. And, you may have to fill out an insurance claim to the shipping company for extensive damages.

We charge $20.00 whether we fix it or not, your paying for our time to check it out.
The two year warranty doesn't cover the whole clipper, just the motor. Other parts of the clipper wear out under normal use, or can be broken by the user. Shorting cords can be fixed not replaced. Most shorts are cause by the user twisting the cord up during use. Levers can be changed by the user or service center. This clipper is very well made, everything is soldered together inside thats why labor is a little higher.
We Don't repair Wahl Clippers, we refer you to Wahl's refurb program.
The Wahl Switchblade/Storm, KM-5/KM-10
Cord shorting out?? Send it to Wahl for free replacement
Any problems will be fixed by Wahl FREE OF CHARGE for the Switchblade/Storm, KM-5/KM-10 with their refurbish program. You will probably get a new one back.

Bravura, Chromado, or Arco
Any problems with any Wahl cordless clippers (Bravura, Chromado, Arco) can be repaired inexpensively ($35) through the Wahl Refurbish program for a flat fee. We don't work on these clippers because refurbishing is cheaper. You will probably get a new one back.

Wrap the clipper in bubble wrap couple times, and place it in the box along with your blades and shears. Try not to ship your clippers in the clipper box they came in. First, there is no padding in that box, and we have received clippers this way with broken bodies and switches. Secondly, it will take an oversized shipping box to put this clipper box in and you will pay the entire return shipping.
